Eximo Marketing is honoured to be working with North Star, one of the headline projects of Belfast 2024.

North Star is one of 17 projects selected to showcase the city as part of Belfast 2024, a year-long celebration of the city’s creativity.

North Star is a new chapter in Belfast’s story. It’s a performance inspired by Frederick Douglass, the anti slavery campaigner who delivered a landmark speech in Belfast in 1846 reflecting on the warmth of the people.

“Wherever else I feel myself to be a stranger, I will remember I have a home in Belfast.”

North Star will honour this speech by asking local school children and world class artists to respond to this famous Douglass quote. It begins with a school programme, allowing four schools from each corner of Belfast communities to engage Black cultural expression and create their response.

In parallel to the school programme, Grammy Award winner Kaidi Tatham, award-winning poet Nandi Jola, rising stars Leo Miyagee and Winnie Ama, acclaimed actor Colin Salmon, and Ivor Novello Winner Hannah Peel will each be responding to the same quote in a way that showcases their art.

The outputs of both the schools and artists work will come together in one show, taking place on Thursday 24th and Friday 25th October at Belfast’s iconic Telegraph Building.

Eximo Marketing is providing strategic marketing support to North Star. Our work will be focused on ticket sales for the two nights of the event alongside documenting the process by producing a North Star podcast.

Full details of North Star can be found on the project website. Tickets go on sale from Thursday 23rd May – sign up for Belfast 2024’s newsletter to get an exclusive pre sale to buy.
